Peyton Manning insulted when reporter asks if he’s embarrassed after Broncos loss

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning probably understands why Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch does not speak to the media.

Manning played poorly during Denver’s 43-8 loss against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII. He finished with 280 passing yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and a 73.5 passer rating. After Manny Ramirez’s snap resulted in a safety on Denver’s first play, it was a bad omen for Manning's team.
During Manning’s postgame interview, one reporter decided to ask him a “brilliant” question.
Somebody asked Manning if the Broncos had an "embarrassing" performance during the Super Bowl.
Imagine what that reporter's backup question was.
Manning was visibly annoyed, and seemingly refrained from ripping that reporter apart. He answered the question, but was not thrilled about it.
“It’s not embarrassing at all,” Manning said. “I never use that word. There are a lot of professional football players in that locker room who put a lot of hard work and effort into being here and playing in that game. The word ‘embarrassing’ is an insulting word, to tell you the truth.”
Manning had a great regular season, and his team defeated San Diego and New England en route to the Super Bowl. Denver was overwhelmed by Seattle, but whenever a reporter starts fishing for a response by trying to put words in an athlete’s mouth, the results are usually bad.
There might be players on Denver’s team that are embarrassed, but the reporter who asked that question should share the same emotions.http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/peyton-manning-insulted-reporter-asks-embarassed-broncos-loss-145834429--nfl.html?vp=1
